Here are evaluation comments from artists who took part in past Video Interview Workshops. Thanks for your feedback!

• The interview workshop was very enlightening. I've never done anything like this before. I wasn't going to come, but I'm glad that I did. The mind drawing exercise helped me express same of my feelings that I would otherwise keep inside.
• The leader was very sensitive to the privacy of the artists.    
•  - The openness of everyone as well as the support. I really felt safe. Thanks  
• - I really enjoyed the experience and look forward to the finished piece. 
• - I enjoyed the music and picture brainstorming. They were wonderful ways to get us to think about inspiration. My favorite part was the performance art.

What did you like about the workshop?  I liked the interactions with all the artists.
What would you recommend be changed?  I'm not sure.
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?  The interview workshop was very enlightening. I've never done anything like this before. I wasn't going to come, but I'm glad that I did. The mind drawing exercise helped me express same of my feelings that I would otherwise keep inside.

What did you like about the workshop?   The workshop gave me the chance to explore inspiration, something I hadn't thought about before the workshop.
What would you recommend be changed?    Explore the questions that are used to get artist to describe their inspiration. Maybe give some examples of other like descriptions.
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?   enjoyable, will do again.

What did you like about the workshop?      The leader was very sensitive to the privacy of the artists.                    
What would you recommend be changed?   more refreshments, drinks, etc.     (Presenter Comments: we pay for the refreshments out of our own pocket. We have orange juice to keep you hydrated and keep up the blood sugar. Bottled water to keep you hydrated.  Crackers and Cheese for a short snack to keep anyone from getting too hungry.  Please have lunch before attending).

Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?   maybe keep the camera on the group when we are just talking about our thoughts around the table. It's easier to be open about thoughts when you are not fully aware of the camera being focused on you.

What did you like about the workshop?   I enjoyed the totalness of the workshop. It was an opening up event.
What would you recommend be changed?     Maybe having more interaction and group activities with all participants.

What did you like about the workshop?        Thinking about inspiration.
What would you recommend be changed?   Some of the instructions seemed a little structured and sometimes that was a little limiting - there was a tension between giving what you wanted and what seem to be coming up for me.
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?      Interesting ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. I hope it helps in funding the RAC.

What did you like about the workshop?       Good project. Makes you think about why you do art. Interaction with other artists. Listening to other artists stories.
What would you recommend be changed?          make the sessions shorter.
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?     Perhaps we could know the questions that were going to be asked before hand we could be better prepared with our answers.

What did you like about the workshop?    the drawing part was nice.
What would you recommend be changed?      I think a lot of good things were said during our discussions that should have been recorded on video tape. A missed opportunity. also too long, no real food.   
 could have been done in one session instead of two.

What did you like about the workshop?     The Creative exercises were challenging for me. The facilitators Edwin and Joan did a great job of creating a supportive atmosphere. Getting video tips from edwin. listening to other artists experiences.
What would you recommend be changed?  If possible change the format to one full day instead of 2 half days.
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?    It was a pleasure to contribute to this project. good luck edwin and Joan. Let me know if I can help in any way.

What would you recommend be changed?      Without understanding their whole video process - I feel like 2 days is too long. It'll probably relax us more on camera - but it feels too long.

Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?   Very interesting and it will prepare me for other interviewing. It made me think about feelings that were suppressed and also solve a question I've had for a long time.

What would you recommend be changed?       The head shots on the video are very close-up cropped. Perhaps some variation which could include hand gestures.

What did you like about the workshop?  The interactions between the artists and the facilitators. I would like to know more about Edwin's vision. My desire is to see exactly what is in Edwin's mind but in "color"/
What would you recommend be changed?    Nothing. Even thought I was late both times I felt welcomed, excited and eager  to participate in the days activities.        
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?  great, Stimulation, I painted all last week both day and night.

What did you like about the workshop?   I enjoyed listening to the artists discuss where they got their inspiration and about their lives. The workshop created a space to create stories about my work.
What would you recommend be changed?                
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?  Since part 2 of the workshop is focused on looking at your past history and family it's important to let people know specifically how the images will be used thus creating a safe space.

What did you like about the workshop?  I was able to discuss and write about issues I rarely verbalize.
What would you recommend be changed?      no comment, PS It would be great to have an African American facilitator.

What would you recommend be changed?   I liked the workshop. It was good to get pulled back in time with the exercises you created.

What did you like about the workshop?   I enjoy the introspection, so I liked thinking more deeply about things I hadn't thought of in a long while. I enjoyed the community of artists. 
What would you recommend be changed?     Probably not more than 6 artists at a time to maintain intimacy and so as not to go on too long. More info upfront re. workshop aspect/personal nature of topics would have been nice.            
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?  would love to see/have a copy of the completed video. Great idea, well organized. Love to see artists acknowledged on any level. Great to explore the process. Important info/education.

What did you like about the workshop?  Challenging to do what you asked. Felt even more inspired after thinking about inspiration and willingness to take risks of people hearing my stories.
What would you recommend be changed?     rehearsal of the movement of inspiration would be helpful. but it was interesting  to do without rehearsal.            
Your overall comments and feedback about the interview workshop?   nice project you are doing. I felt you both took the project seriously and gave it your devotion and that helped me to be serious in my thoughts as you posed questions.
